Set up the SimpleSign integration in CAB

Connecting CAB with SimpleSign allows you to easily create and send documents, such as booking confirmations, directly from CAB, in a smooth, secure, and fully digital process. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up the integration, create your first template  and send your first document for e-signature.

Step 1: Generate an API Token in SimpleSign

To begin, you’ll need to generate an API token in SimpleSign. This token serves as the key that links the two systems together.

  1. Log in to your SimpleSign account and open the main menu on the left.

  2. Click Settings, then select API Keys.

  3. Under Superaccess Token, click Generate New.

  4. Once the token has been created, click the arrow to reveal it and copy the code shown under Client Credentials Identifier.
You’ll need this code in the next step when configuring the integration in CAB.

Step 2: Connect SimpleSign with CAB

Now it’s time to link the systems.

  1. Open CAB and click the gear icon / settings.

  2. Locate the section SimpleSign Configuration.

  3. Paste the code you copied from SimpleSign into the Client Identifier field and click Save.

Once saved, the integration becomes active — CAB and SimpleSign are now connected, and you can start using e-signatures directly within CAB.

Step 3: Verify the Integration

To ensure everything is set up correctly, go back to SimpleSign.

  1. Open Settings → Meta Data.

  2. Verify that you can see metadata fields from CAB being used in the integration.

These fields make sure that the correct information is transferred between CAB and SimpleSign when you create and send documents.

Step 4: Create a Document Template in SimpleSign

The next step is to create a template—for example, for your booking confirmation.
These templates will later be available directly from CAB for sending to your clients.

  1. In SimpleSign, go to Templates from the main menu on the left and click New Template.

  2. Choose Signature Request as the template type and give it a name, for example Booking Confirmation.

  3. Click Save.

Once your SimpleSign and CAB accounts are configured, several metadata fields will be available for use. These fields automatically pull information directly from your CAB case.

You can then build your template using the blocks on the right-hand side of the editor.
Feel free to watch the video below, where our Partner Manager Erik demonstrates how it’s done.

You can also rename and customize fields to match your specific needs.

Tip: Create Your Own Custom Fields

You can add unique fields that don’t exist in CAB:

  1. Go to Blocks in the right-hand menu.

  2. Drag a Text Field into your template.

  3. Click New Field under “Field Type”.

  4. Select Save Field as Metadata and follow the prompts.

Tip: Allow the Client to Enter Information

In the Text Field Settings, you can choose which role is responsible for filling in the field under “Which role should complete this field?”.

Step 5: Enable E-signatures in CAB

To send documents for e-signing, you’ll need to activate the e-signature feature in CAB.

  1. Go to Flow View and click the gear icon to open Settings.

  2. Scroll down to find the option Show E-signatures and check the box.

Once activated, you’ll see a new “e” icon in your view.
Click it, select the template you created in SimpleSign, and verify that the template information is automatically filled in.

Step 6: Send Your First Booking Confirmation

You’re now ready to send your first booking confirmation directly from CAB.

Choose how you want to send the document, via email or SMS, and review the preview to make sure everything looks correct.
When you’re satisfied, click Send.

In the video below, you can follow the entire process step-by-step, from creating the document to the recipient receiving their booking confirmation for signing.

Summary

Once you’ve completed the steps above, you will have:

  • Generated an API token in SimpleSign

  • Connected CAB and SimpleSign

  • Created a document template with unique metadata fields

  • Activated the e-signature function in CAB

  • Sent your first booking confirmation

With the integration in place, you’ll enjoy a smoother, more automated process, from booking to signing, directly within CAB.
